Don’do

Don’do

A true modern classic. A new example of traditional craftsmanship applied to modern design. The shell is made from curved multi-ply beech wood, while the feet are made from fine steam-curved solid oak with an aged walnut finish. The perfect balance of lines, curves and thicknesses is thanks to the skilful manual techniques which feature the use of the Pelle Frau®. The headrest cushion is height-adjustable.

Chester

Chester

Chester evokes the classical armchair model of King Edward’s times, which Renzo Frau reproduced for Poltrona Frau’s first catalogue in 1912, drawing inspiration from the sofas and armchairs that populated the English clubs and country houses of the time. It is distinguished by the pleats decorating the arms and the rich capitonné treated upholstery, produced entirely by hand, that reflects the masterly techniques of the craftsmen responsible for its upholstery. Springing is by means of biconic steel springs, applied manually onto a bearing structure of seasoned Beech wood. The padding of the seat uses rubberised horsehair, while the back and arms are filled with hand-fashioned vegetal horsehair. The seat cushion is stuffed with goosedown.

Bolero

Bolero

Roberto Lazzeroni has designed the Bolero table. Wenge-stained ash, Canaletto walnut, Calacatta Oro marble, brilliant and semi-brilliant. A minimalist and sleek addition to the living room available in many size and geometric shapez. The frame supporting the table is in wengé-stained solid ash or in solid Canaletto walnut with a triangular section profile. The table top surface is in rotary-cut wengé-stained ash veneer or Canaletto walnut veneer, with a characteristic cross-grain inlay and a wengé-stained solid ash or Canaletto walnut trim around the edge.

The 220×110 cm and 250×100 cm tables and the 150 cm diameter round version are also available with the top in Calacatta gold marble, with bevelled edge and semi-polished or polished polyester finish. With the semi-polished finish, the surface of the marble top is treated with a protective water-repellent solution that gives it a more natural look. In the version with polished finish, meanwhile, a transparent polyester paint is applied that makes the surface of the top more resistant, preventing it from absorbing liquids. In the marble versions, the legs of the table are in ash in a wengé stain or Canaletto walnut.

The 180 cm diameter round version is also available complete with a Lazy Susan turntable, resting on rather than fixed to the table top, comprising two round flat trays with different diameters. The upper one has a diameter of 115cm and is in multiply birch edged with wengé-stained solid ash or solid Canaletto walnut in the same way as the table top, offset with veneer underneath. The smaller, lower tray is in MDF finished with black scratch-proof paint and fitted with protective felt pads. An aluminium turntable mechanism using steel ball bearings is housed between the two trays.

Archibald Gran Comfort

Archibald Gran Comfort

Jean-Marie Massaud has designed the Archibald Gran Comfort in a completely new interpretation of the Archibald project, of which it offers a refined and informal version.

The central element is the large and soft seat cushion. The luxurious and soft leather bag with abundant goose-down padding sits in contrast with the architectural style of the steel shelf which supports it. The suspension of the beech seat is achieved with elastic straps which continue along the outside edge of the steel-framed backrest for a further element of comfort. The steel frame and feet are characterised by the Ruthenium finish. Extremely thin and light, they almost seem to be sketched in pencil.
The quilted goose-down baffle padding of the seat and backrest enhances the softness of the armchair. The removable upholstery is available exclusively in the new Pelle Frau® Safari leather. The upholstery’s outer profiles are embellished by the raw cut of the leather, hand-painted and finished with contrasting stitching.

The Archibald Gran Comfort finds its natural complement in this soft new pouf. As generous and informal as the armchair, it enhances its welcoming and comfortable nature. The armchair and pouf employ the same materials and processes.

Archibald

Archibald

Archibald invites you in to mediate and relax. The icon chair created by Jean-Marie Massaud today goes royal: Archibald King is here. Important, majestic, fit for royalty. A distinguishing large headrest takes up on the elegant folds of the backrest featured throughout the collection. Thus the pleasantly undulating leather is embellished along the edges and external surfaces of the upholstery with contrast stitching, giving it a refined, elegant appeal.
The frame of the backrest and seat is in steel with moulded polyurethane foam padding, and shaped foam with polyester wadding in the zones where more comfort is needed. Springing is obtained from elastic belts and the base is made up of four feet in cast aluminium with a tubular steel frame in a gunmetal grey finish. The upholstery is in Pelle Frau® leather.

Albero

Conceived in the late 1950s as a floor-to-ceiling free-standing bookcase, “Albero” was designed for use in interior settings rather than for serial production.
The “Albero” is formally associated with the Neoliberty period and, in terms of product type, to the floor-to-ceiling bookcase systems that were popular throughout the 50s and 60s. Designed by Frattini, the structure stands out both for its complex cabinet work and for its sculpted nature, acting as the centrepiece of a room.

Supporting frame in solid Canaletto walnut veneer with special rack and pinion joint and shelves in MDF with Canaletto veneer. Iron caps, on the ceiling and ground, finished with textured, wrinkled-effect black paint. A metal “cup” is attached to the ceiling inside which is inserted a steel anchor bolt with adjustable metal ferrules. On the ground it is held in place by an anti-slip rubber foot. The system has a 360° swivel mechanism. Any number of shelves from 8 to 12 can be fitted thanks to the holes in the uprights.

After the huge success of the re-release of the freestanding Albero bookcase, a little-known yet very fascinating and masterful piece created by Gianfranco Frattini in the late 1950s, Poltrona Frau is launching the Albero Limited Edition in olive wood. Each bookcase features the designer’s signature, the Poltrona Frau logo, the caption “Limited Edition” and laser-engraved numbering from 01|55 to 55|55 on the lower part of the frame.

Albero has been mentioned in “The Top 10 Moments at Milan Design Week” of The New Tork Times.

Let It Be

Let It Be

The natural evolution of the sofa, Let it be’s philosophy is implicit in its name. A famous song by the Beatles, it is evocative of a period of newfound freedom from all types of formalism and convention. The  project also embraces and reinterprets the time-honoured Italian concept of the Roman triclinium, where people lay down, ate, talked and lazed about.

A modular system open to the most comfortable of configurations, Let it be is an invitation to relax. It can be completed according to taste with shelves and storage units that expand its functions. It is a welcoming refuge where you can finally leave your worries behind you and rediscover your own time and rhythms. An authentic island of wellbeing equipped with everything you need. It is also informal and inviting in terms of its light aesthetic. The structure and the soft down cushions appear to be suspended on saddle leather straps. The foot, unexpectedly set back from the corner, enhances the sensation that the seats are floating in space.

The purity of the design melds with the precious details. The visible leather and saddle leather stitching bring to mind the processing of fine saddles and harnesses.
The structure and cushions are upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, Nest and Soul leather, also in combination with fabric. Alternatively, Cuoio Saddle / Saddle Extra leather can be combined with Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. The shelves and armrest or backrest surfaces are upholstered in Cuoio Saddle or Cuoio Saddle Extra leather.

The frame is in die-cast aluminium with joints in black painted steel. The backrest and armrest structure, padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding, is in solid poplar and birch plywood. The seat spring system uses intertwined elastic belts, while the seat cushion padded in goose down and polyester wadding.
The feet are in moulded aluminium with ruthenium or blasted and burnished aluminium finishes.

Jay Lounge

Jay Lounge

The Jay Lounge armchair is a privileged realm to dedicate purely to ourselves. Reserved for highly personal moments of meditation, relaxation and reading. A new take on the archetypal bergère that instantly becomes a contemporary icon. A new classic, completely atypical, with a strong emphasis on hedonism. The seat is modelled around the body. The geometries are organic yet taut and sculpted. The backrest and seat are independent of each other.

Jean-Marie Massaud proceeds by subtraction, lightening the volumes and instilling movement into the composition. The armrests jut out jauntily, as if carved from the material. The ergonomics of the seat are primarily visual and are confirmed by the absolute comfort of the constructions and volumes. Thanks to the advanced processing techniques, the padding is perfectly aligned with the structure, emphasising the clean forms and offering enveloping and comfortable surfaces.

In its modern reinterpretation of the classic bergère, Jay Lounge avoids all forms of rigidity and moves in space. The specially designed die-cast base permits 360° rotation with automatic return to the starting position.

Designed for top ergonomic performance, Jay Lounge is intended for the home but is also perfectly suitable for public and work spaces.
The seat structure is in moulded rigid polyurethane reinforced with metal inserts. The padding is in moulded polyurethane foam and polyester wadding.
The 4-spoke swivel base is made from aluminium and is available in the blasted-burnished and polished finishes. Upholstery in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, Nest, Soul or Century leather, with refined stitching decorating the surface.

The natural complement for the comfort of the armchair is the footrest which, with its equally clean and sculpted design, comes in the same materials.

Fidelio Small Tables

Fidelio Small Tables

The linear and clean elegance of Fidelio is perfectly expressed in the new floor lamp and in the new side tables that enrich the collection. Satellites designed by Roberto Lazzeroni so we can live in symbiosis with sofas and armchairs. Accessories that create even more complete and versatile spaces of wellbeing around and together with Poltrona Frau seats.

The lamp’s vertical design contrasts with the horizontal nature of the side tables to create skylines with different balances every time. As with the rest of the collection, the restraint of the design and the painstaking precision of the lines bring out the purity of the materials. A recurring geometric feature distinguishes the construction of the wooden structures, composed of expertly processed solid ash junctions and rings. The floor lamp is a simple rectangle carved from solid wood in a moka or wenge stain, with triangular profile. The light point finds its natural location in this geometric structure with a fabric lampshade. Triangular profile and solid wood in the same finishes also appear in the base of the side tables.

The top surface of the tabletop, in its rectangular and round variants, is upholstered in Cuoio Saddle Extra leather while the underneath is in Pelle Frau® leather. Edge stitching, tone on tone or contrast as desired, embellishes the surface of the saddle leather top. Alternatively, the tops can come in Emperador marble with a glossy finish or Calacatta gold marble with a glossy or semi-glossy finish. The metal details on all of the new accessories are in brushed steel with galvanic treatment and a natural brass finish.

Chester Line

Chester Line

Chester, Poltrona Frau’s icon par excellence, and its contemporary version, the Chester Line. With a stately, sculpturesque, representative aura, and an open architecture, you can freely configure the line’s furniture for a more casual social setting. Chester Line maintains the impeccable elegance and iconic workings of its predecessor: the capitonné, stitching with buttons, and spiral on the armrest. But in updating itself to contemporary habits and ways of living the home, it lightens up, breaks up and multiplies in its combinations. It is now a system offering five different elements: chaise longue and armchair, both with armrests, poufs, and two corner sofas.

The capitonné was kept on the backrest, precious and recognisable, but disappears from the sofa base. The emphasis on tradition comes with a delicate job of removing details, in a quest for a modern lightness accentuated by the blade-shaped, nearly invisible metallic feet.

Unlike the historic model, the two-seater sofa has just one just one, much larger cosy cushion, in harmony with the atmosphere of a contemporary living room. The elements without an armrest and backrest let you add accessories that enrich the functions of the various configurations. For an elegant way to complete the system, add the Fidelio side tables and lamp. With their architectural purity they go naturally with the various Chester Line modules and increase your furnishing arrangement options. The tops in place of the armrests and backrests can be used in various ways.

The Chester Line’s supporting structure is made out of solid aged beech wood. The seat spring system, backrests, and armrests are made using hand-tied biconical springs laid on jute belts. Vegetable horsehair padding shaped by hand has been used for the backrest and armrest on the corner sofa. The goose down seat cushion includes an extra stabilising insert made out of polyurethane foam. Upholstery comes in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, Nest, Heritage, Century and Cuoietto, which can be mixed and matched with the Poltrona Frau fabricsFeet come in the blade-shaped aluminium variant with burnished brushed finish by request alongside the Dark Walnut dyed beech or lacquered black classic version (high or low).

Arcos

Arper Arcos

A classical form, repeated. The Arcos collection is a restrained interpretation of Art Deco’s geometric glamor — without the ornamentation. Though lightweight and quiet, Arcos maintains a graphic presence due to its signature cast aluminum armrests that form twin curves evoking the elegant rhythm of archways in the corridors and walkways of classical architecture.
